Governor Bello dumps PDP for APC
Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and defected to the All Progressive Congress.
Personal Assistant to Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari on Digital and New Media, Bashir Ahmed disclosed this on his verified Facebook page on Sunday morning.
The presidential aide wrote ‘’So Zamfara is back home! Welcome, Matawalle’’.
The defection has, however, not been confirmed by the governor who, back in April, was visited by six PDP governors, a move to persuade him from joining the APC.
The governors, including Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Darius Ishaku of Taraba, Umar Fintiri of Adamawa and Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto.
