Gov Oyetola grieves over death of Osogbo deputy Chief Imam

Sheikh Haroon Adediran, deputy Chief Imam of Osogbo, has gave up the ghost on Wednesday, he passed on at the age of 87.

The deceased, who reportedly died after a brief illness, was later buried in Osogbo in accordance with Islamic rites.

Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in a statement signed by his press secretary, Ismail Omipidan, expressed shock at the passage of the cleric, saying the late Adediran lived a pious and exemplary life that was devoted to the service of Allah and humanity.

Oyetola further said, “I am extremely shocked and sad to learn of the passing of our father and Deputy Chief Imam of Osogbo, Sheikh Haroon Adediran Samonigogo. His death is a huge personal loss because he was like a father to me.

“Sheikh Haroon was a friend and supporter of our administration and always offered us wise counsel. He will be greatly missed. I pray Allah to forgive his shortcomings and admit him into Aljanah Firdaus.”
