GM, EVgo launch 400 flagship EV charging stations

General Motors (GM) and EVgo have announced a major collaboration to build a network of high-profile electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across key urban locations.
This initiative will feature a total of 400 charging stalls, marking a significant expansion in EV infrastructure.
The flagship stations, which will be cobranded by GM Energy and EVgo, will be strategically placed in urban centres across Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New York, and Texas.
Each station will offer 20 fast charging stalls capable of delivering up to 350 kW of power, alongside pull-through stations, security cameras, and gas station-style canopies with ample lighting.

These stations are designed to be conveniently located near shopping areas, food outlets, coffee shops, and other amenities.
The rollout of these flagship stations will begin in 2025, with the initial locations featuring EVgo’s latest modular and easy-deploying prefabricated charging stations. As of August 2023, GM and EVgo have already established 1,000 fast charging stalls and aim to reach 2,000 of their planned 2,850 DC fast charging stalls by the end of the year.
This effort is part of a broader strategy that includes developing a coast-to-coast network of 2,000 DC fast charging stations at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J travel centres.
Since their partnership began in 2020, GM and EVgo have been expanding their charging network. In addition to this collaboration, GM is also investing in its Ultium 360 network, which connects vehicle owners to various third-party networks, and contributing to Ionna, a joint venture with seven major automakers aimed at furthering EV infrastructure development.
