Gbagyi Child! Bez unveils cover, tracklist of his sophomore album

Nigerian singer Bez is finally ready to release his 13-track album, Gbagyi Child, on November 28, 2016 and it features MAMAs 2016 ‘Best Female Act’, Yemi Alade, as well as Simi.

It will be his second album following Super Sun, which was released in 2011.

According to the singer, ‘The sounds that make up the Gbagyi Child album were all the pieces woven together intricately with an intent to create magic. This magic is my sophomore offering.’

Bez’s album Super Sun was released in 2011, and includes the single “That Stupid Song”. The Boston Globe placed this song at number 3 in its top ten world music albums of 2011, calling Bez a “superb alternative-soul singer”.

In an interview with Vanguard Nigeria, Bez stated “That Stupid Song” was created accidentally when someone entered the studio requesting “a stupid song”. Bez’s producer, the talented songwriter and music producer, Cobhams Asuquo, thought to create a song that was a mixture of different songs they sang while growing up. They invited Praiz to do a collaboration with Bez and they recorded “That Stupid Song” the next day.
