If I could, Jurgen Klopp would be Man United manager—Gary Neville

If wishes were a penny, Jurgen Klopp will be managing Man United now instead of Liverpool, Manchester United legend, Gary Neville states.

The former Manchester United defender stated this while speaking on a Youtube Channel, UMM where Neville had a brief moment to talk about what he would have done if he could turn back the hands of time.

Gary Neville noted that he would have tried all he could to convince the German to go to Old Trafford rather than Merseyside judging from how the former Dortmund boss turned things around for Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp so far has now cemented himself as one of the Premier League’s all-time great coaches, which of course Gary Neville agrees to and would much have rather him in the Old Trafford dugout than the Anfield one.

“I can’t go back in time but I wish they had appointed Jurgen Klopp.” The former Right-Back said.

“He’s been supported at Liverpool by a brilliant backroom team that have got the players in for him and every manager at United has struggled, but he’s an exceptional manager, of course you wish we would have appointed him,” Neville added.

Reviewing Jurgen Klopp’s career prior to becoming Liverpool manager, although he did quite well at Borussia Dortmund, he did not have quite the decent CV compared to the other managers that Manchester United hired.

To think that Gary Neville would back in 2015 or thereabouts prefer a manager in the Bundesliga who had an absolute nightmare in his final year at Borussia Dortmund over Louis van Gaal or Jose Mourinho is very much ironic.

And there was the fact that Liverpool did not know what to expect when the German was brought to Anfield and could be said to have been taking something of a leap of faith with Jurgen Klopp when they brought him in back in 2015.

It is very much easy to state that Jurgen Klopp should have joined Man United instead of Liverpool, but what was the guaranty he would have had the success he now has, had his wishes being true?

Would the United fan base and pundits like him given Jurgen Klopp the chance to thrive when Jose Mourinho and Ralf Ragnick were widely criticized?
