Gary Neville Labels Bruno Fernandes' Performance A Disgrace

Former Manchester United player and pundit, Gary Neville, has criticized Bruno Fernandes, branding the Portuguese midfielder’s behavior as ‘disgraceful’ and ‘embarrassing’ following Manchester United’s 7-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.

Liverpool’s impressive performance saw them score seven goals, with Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Roberto Firmino all getting on the scoresheet. During the game, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, and Antony all showed a lack of composure. However, Fernandes was singled out for criticism by Neville due to his behavior in the second half of the match.

“Bruno Fernandes stood in the centre circle with his arms raised asking: ‘Why is it me not coming off?” Neville stated on Sky Sports. “Honestly, I have to say some of his behavior in the second half has been a disgrace.”

Neville further added that Fernandes was ‘embarrassing’ and that the second half performance of the entire team was a ‘shambles’.

Manchester United’s defeat against Liverpool was their biggest ever in the Premier League, with the result further compounding the club’s recent struggles. With the loss, United dropped to fifth place in the league table, seven points behind leaders Manchester City.
