Nigerian actor cum singer, Gabriel Afolayan, has debunked rising rumour in some quarters that his marriage to Adebanke has collapsed.

There were speculations that the pair — who tied the knot in 2018 — have parted ways over alleged infidelity.

One of the reports had claimed that the marriage hit the rocks over an alleged affair between Banky W and Adebanke.

It was recently reported on popular Instagram blog @gistlovers.blog1 that actor Gabriel Afolayan’s wife, Banke, cheated on him.

According to the report, Banke allegedly cheated on her husband with singer, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W. The singer, who is the husband of actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington, had attended Afolayan and Banke’s wedding with his wife in 2018.

The rumours garnered more dust last year after the lovebirds were said to have unfollowed each other on social media while keeping mum over their union.

But speaking with City People, a celebrity magazine, the 36-year-old actor dismissed the rumours while stating that his marriage is “very much intact.”

“That’s actually personal to me. I really don’t want my personal life out there; I always keep that out of the media not because of anything but it is just a personal principle for me. Nevertheless, my marriage is very much intact,” he said.

The movie star also revealed that the union, however, had some challenges which have now been resolved.

Afolayan said his refusal to comment on the issue earlier fuelled the rumours, explaining that he likes to keep his personal life out of the public domain.

“Yes, I heard about the rumours too, but you know, there is no marriage that doesn’t have it’s own challenges, but we have settled it. My wife just travelled out of the country, and we are very much okay. Just because I didn’t say anything or make it go viral for those looking for sensational stories, they think otherwise. But my marriage is intact,” he added.

Gabriel Afolayan rose to fame, playing the role “Akin” in a Super Story Series titled NNENNA.
