The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has appointed Professor Adenike Temidayo Oladiji as its Vice Chancellor.

Adenike’s appointment by the school’s governing Council makes her the eighth vice chancellor after Professor Joseph Fuwape.

The Council approved her appointment at a special meeting led by the Pro-Chancellor, Chairman of Council, Ambassador (Dr.) Godknows Igali, on Thursday, May 12.

The Council had to put the appointment to vote following the closeness in the score of three candidates.

The outcome of the vote resulted in Professor Oladiji’s appointment as the first female Vice Chancellor the institution has ever produced.
