FRSC Lagos commence ‘operation show your driver’s license’

The Federal Road Safety Corp(FRSC) Lagos command begins its ‘operation show your driver’s license today, Monday, 4th of October and ends on the 10th of October across all commands of the state.

In a statement made to journalists on Sunday, 3rd of October, 2021, the state’s Corp commander, Olusegun Ogungbemide, notified the public of the corp’s intention to ensure that all motorists and bikers plying the roads of Lagos possess valid driver’s and vehicle license through this exercise.

The state’s corp commander also said that motorists should be in possession of the original copy of driver’s license. In cases where only a photocopy is present, the owner of the vehicle will be given 24 hours to provide the original if demanded by the appropriate authority.

Motorist are also to at least carry a photocopy of their vehicle particulars and provide the original within 24 hours if demanded.

The corp commander mentioned that vehicles impounded during the exercise will not be released until the owners shows evidence of the documents while communicating his disapproval over the high rate of uncollected original driver’s license in the state’s driver’s license stations.

He warned motorists to ensure all required documents are obtained and urged all road users to maintain safe speed and avoid night travels during these ember months for a quality road and travel experience.
