Frenkie De Jong, a better fit for Chelsea

Close your eyes Manchester United fans, a Liverpool legend doesn’t think Frenkie de Jong is a good fit for Old Trafford but instead the blue half of London.

Steve Nicol, a former Liverpool player and legend has advised Chelsea to move quickly to hijack Manchester United’s deal for Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong.

This according to Nicol is because the Dutchman fits Chelsea’s pattern of play better than he would Manchester United.

In Steve Nicol’s analysis, he advised the West London side to ditch it’s Italian midfielder, Jorginho for the de Jong as he considers the former Ajax player better in the role Jorginho plays at Chelsea.

De Jong has been continually linked with a move away from Barcelona to Manchester United but popular reports has the midfielder instead favoring a stay at Camp Nou.

“Listen, Frenkie de Jong is a great player and so great players can play for any team,” Nicol said on ESPN FC panel.

“If you want to take Jorginho out and get rid of him and put De Jong in, then I think that makes them [Blues] better.

“In my mind, I don’t get De Jong as a Chelsea player, but at the same time, you need to get better.”

With the window still very active, there is still a lot of time for more twists to creep up, and more surprises in store.
