Frank Lampard message to Mason Mount on return to Chelsea

This season has to be among one of the most unpredictable Premier League season anyone could ever imagine as evident with Frank Lampard making a shock return to Stamford Bridge as manager of Chelsea.

With his return, there also stands some words to be had on want-away midfielder whose contract situation and form this season has stalled.

Frank Lampard, Chelsea’s new interim manager, has emphasized the importance of midfielder Mason Mount’s performance on the pitch. Lampard, who was appointed as the club’s new manager, conveyed his message to Mount during his first press conference on Thursday.

Mount, whose current contract with Chelsea expires in the summer of 2024, is yet to sign a new deal with the club. Under former manager Graham Potter, he did not regularly feature for Chelsea and could be let go to avoid breaching Financial Fair Play regulations.

Lampard, who has a strong relationship with Mount from their time together at Derby County, praised the England international, saying:

Mason Mount has always been a fantastic player for me. I know what I get from Mason. I want to see him perform on the pitch. He’s a huge player for Chelsea.”

Mount’s future at the club remains uncertain, but Lampard’s words suggest that he is keen to give the midfielder a chance to prove his worth. As Chelsea look to improve their form and climb up the Premier League table, Mount’s performances could be crucial in securing their success.
