France Have Given Mbappe Too Much Power At PSG – Di Maria

Mbappe to be sold after latest ultimatum

Juventus forward Angel Di Maria has accused Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) of overlooking Lionel Messi and giving Kylian Mbappe all powers at the club. Speaking to ESPN Argentina, the Argentine winger, who played alongside both players at PSG, claimed that the French club offered Mbappe a bumper contract last year, turning a blind eye to Messi, the Argentina captain.

Mbappe, who was reportedly on the verge of joining Real Madrid last summer, signed a new deal with PSG, making him the highest-paid footballer in the world. However, Cristiano Ronaldo surpassed him following his move to Al-Nassr in December 2022.

Di Maria claimed that France, in general, had given Mbappe a lot of responsibility, and PSG had made him stay while giving him all the power to be him and no one else. The winger further stated that there was a big difference because PSG gave Mbappe all that power with the best in history, Lionel Messi, next to him.

The Juventus forward suggested that Mbappe was given all the power and strength because he is French, he was born there, won a World Cup and has an extraordinary career ahead of him. However, Di Maria pointed out that when he was at PSG, Mbappe was a good boy, and he doesn’t think he has changed so much.

PSG’s decision to offer Mbappe a massive contract while ignoring Messi, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, has raised eyebrows. Many fans and analysts have questioned the wisdom of the club’s strategy, with some suggesting that it may have contributed to Messi’s recent struggles at PSG.

Messi initially had a difficult start to life in Paris, failing to score in his first seven league games for the club. Paris Saint Germain haven’t had the best of forms, having lost three consecutive games, the first time in years, with a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich being their latest loss.

The situation has raised concerns about the team’s cohesion and the impact of PSG’s focus on Mbappe’s success on the rest of the team.
