Former US President Donald Trump Set To Face 30 Counts Related To Business Fraud

Former President Donald Trump is set to face over 30 counts related to business fraud in an indictment from a Manhattan grand jury, according to sources familiar with the case.

The indictment marks the first time in American history that a current or former president will face criminal charges.

The charges stem from an alleged role in a hush money payment scheme and cover-up involving adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Trump is expected to appear in court on Tuesday for his arraignment. Trump’s team is preparing to roll out surrogates to hit Democrats, the investigation, and District Attorney Alvin Bragg across various forms of media as they work to shape the public narrative. House GOP leaders have rushed to Trump’s defense, showing division among the GOP.

Meanwhile, former Vice President Mike Pence will join CNN’s Wolf Blitzer for a one-on-one conversation, which comes just hours after the indictment of Trump.

The Fulton County district attorney’s office is expected to charge Trump and his allies for violating the law in their efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia.
