The military government that overthrew President Roch Kaboré in January, has freed him to return to his home in Ouagadougou.

Kaboré was detained in a ministerial villa in the capital after he was ousted in a coup led by Lieutenant Colonel Paul-Henri Damiba.

According to the President’s party, his release comes after weeks of consultations, and interceding calls by the international community.

The present government also insisted that measures were being taken to ensure his safety.
