Former naval chief dumps APC for PDP in Bayelsa State

A previous Commandant of the National Defence College, Abuja, Thomas Lokoson has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) and defected to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State.

Lokoson was welcomed on Saturday by PDP members and leaders at his Ward 5 in Otuan community in Constituency One of the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Bayelsa Central Senatorial District.

His defection is coming about three weeks after Bayelsa State Governor; Douye Diri rejected political offers from APC chieftain and ex-deputy governor of the state, Peremobowei Ebebi, to dump the PDP for the APC.

He declared that his decision to return to the PDP was due to the performance and accomplishments of the Diri-led government in the state.

Lokoson expressed gratitude to PDP for receiving him back to the party, stating that the current government had showed ample zeal for the general growth of the state.
