Prophet Amoateng Advocates against forced tithing in churches

Prophet Sampson Amoateng, the esteemed founder and General Overseer of House of Miracles Ministries, is taking a stand against forced tithing practices prevalent in many churches today.
During a recent interaction with reporters in Abuja, Prophet Amoateng emphasized the importance of making tithing a voluntary act rather than a compulsory obligation imposed on congregants.
“Today, tithing has become a contentious issue in many churches. It should be a spiritual practice rooted in faith and love, not coercion,” expressed Prophet Amoateng. “Forcing members to pay tithes and offerings contradicts the essence of giving, which should flow freely from the heart.”
Prophet Amoateng underscored that tithing, in its true essence, is a voluntary expression of gratitude and obedience to God. “As Christians, our giving should be motivated by love and faith, not by compulsion or fear,” he remarked.
He further criticized the practice of documenting tithe payments, stating, “It is carnal to demand documentation of tithe payments. Giving should be a personal and private matter between individuals and God.”
Prophet Amoateng’s advocacy for voluntary tithing aligns with a growing sentiment within the religious community, urging churches to promote giving from a place of sincerity and generosity rather than enforcing financial obligations on their members.
His stance on tithing underscores the importance of fostering a culture of genuine generosity and goodwill within congregations, emphasizing the spiritual significance of giving from the heart.
