For Morocco to Beat Spain, Calmness Is Required---Aghahowa

Morocco faced an upheaval battle qualifying from their group in the world cup preliminary stage, and things are about to get more dicey for them as they progress into the round of 16 to face off against Spain, and for former Super Eagles’ player, Julius Aghahowa, making it past Spain will take a lot from the African side.

Julius Aghahowa, a former forward for the Super Eagles, has advised Morocco to maintain composure as they face Spain in the 2022 FIFA World Cup match currently taking place in Qatar.

The Atlas Lions and La Furia Roja will compete at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan on Tuesday in an effort to advance to the quarterfinals.

Morocco won two games and drew one in their first three matches to finish first in Group F with seven points.

Spain, on the other hand, finished second to Japan in Group F and was able to advance.

After Cameroon, Senegal, and Ghana, the North Africans will aim to become the fourth African nation to advance to the World Cup’s round of eight.

Aghahowa, who traveled with the Super Eagles to the 2022 World Cup, which South Korea and Japan will co-host, emphasized that the Atlas Lions should not lose their composure in the face of the previous world champions.

“The performances of the African teams at the World Cup has shown that our game on the continent has improved,” Aghahowa told Brila FM.

“As for Morocco, I feel that they should take each game one step at a time. It will be a very difficult game for them in the round of 16. They need to be calm, don’t panic,” he added.
