Fofana going nowhere—Brendan Rodgers insists

Wesley Fofana is going nowhere, Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers insists despite links to Chelsea.

Chelsea has never had this summer transfer window easy, have they? Not when there is the like of Barcelona running the show or a Leicester City who have proven themselves as tough negotiators in the business.

They sold Harry Maguire for 80 million Euros to Manchester United and Ben Chillwell for a huge sum to Chelsea, all transfers that in no way came back to bite the Foxes.

On the other hand, much cannot be said for the other clubs they did business with.

Again, the Foxes are ready to go tough on Chelsea when it comes to another of their talents as Thomas Tuchel has eyes on Wesley Fofana.

According to Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers, he is insistent that Fofana will be staying put at the Kings Power this season no matter the interests for the player.

Two offers for the player have already been made by Chelsea which Leicester promptly rejected, with no other bid made as of this moment by Chelsea.

While speaking to the media on Thursday, the former Liverpool and Celtic manager insists the French defender is not for sale.

Brendan Rodgers said:

“I don’t think so far ahead, the idea is that he is a Leicester City player,” he said.

“He is not for sale, the club have made that clear, unless anything changes he will still be here.

“Currently at this moment there is nothing new and nothing has changed from when we last spoke.”
