Focus On Their Strength And You Will See Less Of Their Weakness

Published

on

Story was told about a king who had one eye and one leg. He asked all the painters (Artists) in his kingdom to draw a beautiful portrait of him. But non of them could  because they thought how could they draw and paint him beautifully with the defects in one eye and leg. Eventually one of them agreed and painted a classic picture of the king. It was a fantastic picture that surprised every one. He painted the king aiming at a bird that perched on a tree, WITH THE KING’S ONE EYE CLOSED AND ONE LEG BENT…

One thing we should all pick from the above story is the fact that one needs to always ignore the weaknesses of others and focus on their strength. People will not behave as exactly as you would have preferred them to do. Just as there’s tendencies you are also not going to behave as exactly as they would want you to.

The fact remains that if you focus on other’s weaknesses, then you are likely going to see only the worst side of them. However if you focus on their strength what you are going to see is beauty and smiles. Nobody is ugly. Atleast I have never come across one. I have only listen to people judged others base on their perception of beauty.

Do not be people without minds of your own, saying that if others treat you well you will treat them well and that if they do wrong you will do wrong. But (instead) accustom yourselves to do good if people do good and not to do wrong if they do evil

                                        (Tirmidhi).

When was the last time you told a friend that he/she mattered? That he/she mattered to you, to the world and most importantly to God? How about the people you met at the bus stop, school or working place? Does your behavior had value to add to their lives? Or it’s just a matter of he does this or he does that wrong. Wrong here and there. Be appreciative, be positive and you’re definitely going to find yourself among the happy type.

The best way to see less faults in people is to recognize and respect their beliefs without necessary accepting it. Happy people do not only tolerate but ignore attitudes that could be detrimental to them. They are men and women of integrity. They don’t make empty promises but if they eventually make one,  they will strive by all means to fulfill it. They accept their imperfections and that of others. They control their anger, while in a tense situation, they simply excuse themselves or their mind away from it.

“Verily, anger corrupts the matter just as vinegar spoils honey.”
