Floyd Mayweather knocks out kickboxer Nashukawa
Retired American boxer, Floyd Mayweather has defeated his Japanese opponent, Tenshin Nasukawa, by technical knockout in an exhibition bout held in Tokyo, TOPNAIJA.NG reports.
Mayweather, 41, is arguably the best pound-for-pound boxer of all time.
He floored his undefeated 20-year-old kickboxer opponent three times before the Japanese’s team threw in the towel on Monday.
The three-minute per round three-round contest lasted only 140 seconds and the American earned $9m for his part in the exhibition bout.
After the contest which was played under mostly boxing rules, Mayweather maintained that he is “still retired and that the match-up was all about entertainment”.
Mayweather previously fought and defeated kickboxer, Conor McGregor, in 2017 in a highly controversial encounter, and remains unbeaten in his professional boxing career.
