Florence Morenike Saraki dies at Age 86

Florence Morenike Saraki, the matriarch of the prominent Saraki family and mother of former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has passed away. She was 86.

In a heartfelt statement issued on Tuesday, Dr. Saraki announced the death of his mother, who was also the wife of the late Senate leader of the Second Republic, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki.

“With profound sadness and total submission to the will of Almighty God, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and matriarch, Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, who peacefully transitioned today, Tuesday, June 18th, 2024,” Dr. Saraki said.

He added that details regarding funeral arrangements would be shared in due course and expressed gratitude for the love, prayers, and support extended to the family during their time of mourning.

Florence Morenike Saraki was a respected figure, known for her contributions to the community and her role in supporting the political careers of her husband and son. Her passing marks the end of an era for the Saraki family, which has been a significant force in Nigerian politics for decades.
