Five killed by suspected Fulani Herdsmen in Benue
Outcry as suspected Fulani Herdsmen attacked a village in Benue State, causing the death of five persons.
The Herdsmen, on Thursday, August 4, attacked villages in Ayilamo, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.
Ayilamo is a neighbouring town to the village of the immediate past governor of Benue state, Gabriel Suswam who is now the Senator representing Benue North East.
A resident, who unfortunately lost two of his younger brother, confirmed that the assailants invaded the community in the early hours of 7:00 am as people were getting set to their farms.
The bereaved said;
“Herdsmen are attacking our community as we speak now. Two of my younger brothers have been killed and three others.
“They came since 7:am and up till now they are attacking more villages.
I can not exactly tell how many people they have killed but the attack is still on,”
Efforts to confirm the incident from the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene were not successful as her phone rang out without getting picked up.
