FIFA celebrates Asisat Oshoala

Super Falcons captain, Asisat Oshoala has been celebrated by FIFA for emerging as the Primera Iberdrola top scorer.

The Barcelona striker won the Pichichi Award with 20 goals and three assists in 19 appearances despite a three-month injury.

Although, Real Madrid’s Geyse Ferreira also scored 20 goals but had more appearances (27) and only one assist.

FIFA described Oshoala’s performance in the Spanish women’s first division on the Women’s World Cup Twitter handle.

The body wrote, “20 goals and a perfect club season. @AsisatOshoala has always been unstoppable! ?”

Barcelona Femeni are the 2021/2022 winners of the Primera Iberdrola winning 30 in 30 matches, and scoring 159 goals conceding just 11.

The Barca women are looking to win another treble like last season. They are currently in the Women’s Champions League final tied with Lyon.

The match is scheduled to hold at the Juventus Stadium in Turin on May 21.
