FG Finally Fix Date For Minimum Wage Bill Transmission
The federal government after meeting three times with organised labour, on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, agreed to transmit a minimum wage review bill to the national assembly by January 23, 2019
The agreement was reached after about three hours of a meeting with organised labour chaired by the minister of Labour and Employment Chris Ngige
this decision comes after the Nigeria labour congress with its succeeded in hosting nationwide protests civil society affiliates, penultimate strike
With the decision of the government to transmit the bill before the 2019 election, it is not clear if labour will have a course to threaten strike should the National assembly fails to use the twenty-four days before elections to read the document.
