Femi Fani Kayode misses the good old days of Obasanjo
Femi Fani Kayode relives the past administration of Obasanjo.
Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani Kayode is that man like many of us who likes to sit down on a good old day to relive the good old days.
For him, he still can’t get over the fact that Nigerians felt proud to be Nigerians during the former President’s regime where he felt the world showed the country respect.
Of course, it was the regime that made the politician quite popular in the Nigerian political scene as the then president made him Aviation Minister.
Fani-Kayode bemoaned the inability of the current government to live up to such heights and tackle the insecurity plaguing the nation.
In his tweets on Tuesday night, the human rights lawyer recalled how the then administration fought criminal elements and ensured peace in the country.
According to the lawyer turned politician, the days of good leadership are gone, probably forever except, Nigerians, through hard work, establish better government in the coming 2023 general elections.
Well, it possibly could be a subtle campaign for his preferred candidate, but his tweet does bear a point as he shared them:
“One thing you cannot take from OBJ is that he fought for Nigerians.” He wrote
“If it was OBJ that was President when Nigerians were being killed like flies in South Africa there would have been consequences.
“If it was OBJ that was in power when Moroccans and Libyans were humiliating, torturing and killing our people there would have been a price to pay.
“During the OBJ/Atiku Govt. Nigerians all over the world held their heads up in pride and knew that they had a President and Government that would not allow them to be pushed around or be intimidated.
“Sadly those days are gone and unless we work very hard and get the right leadership they may have gone forever.”
