A female police officer, who previously served as the aide-de-camp to former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, is currently in detention, along with other officers, following their arrest by the Nigeria Police Force.

The arrests were made on suspicion of aiding Bello’s escape during a police operation at his Abuja residence, where the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had besieged to effect his arrest.

IGP Olukayode Egbetokun ordered the immediate withdrawal of Yahaya Bello Female police officer and all officers from Bello’s security detail after he disappeared from his Abuja home.

Bello, who was declared wanted by the EFCC for alleged financial misconduct, vanished following a raid on his residence by the anti-graft agency.

The EFCC urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.
