Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and has also stated that he is quitting partisan politics.

Fayose made the announcement during an appearance on ARISE TV.

This news comes in the wake of the PDP’s loss in the presidential election to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Fayose’s decision to resign from the party and quit politics altogether has been met with mixed reactions from Nigerians.

During his appearance on ARISE TV, Fayose revealed that the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, had rejected an offer of one term in office in exchange for the support of the G5 governors.

The G5 governors’ states were crucial in the election, with three going to APC candidate Bola Tinubu, and two going to Labour Party candidate Obi.

Fayose’s announcement has sparked speculation about his next move. While some speculate that he might join another political party, others believe that he may be stepping away from politics entirely.

Fayose was a controversial figure during his time in office as Governor of Ekiti State. He was known for his outspokenness and for being a thorn in the side of the ruling APC. His resignation from the PDP has come as a shock to many, as he was seen as a key figure in the party.
