Fayose denied bail, secures lawyers for EFCC Detainees, feeds 150 prisoners
Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has lost out in his bid to be granted bail by the federal high court in Lagos.
The charges against Fayose were stealing, receiving money from Musiliu Obanikoro, a former minister, criminal breach of trust, illegal acquisition of property in Abuja and Lagos and illegally acquiring property in the name of his sister in Abuja, among others. Fayose however pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him.
Subsequently, Kanu Agabi, his counsel, filed a bail application on behalf of his client but Mojisola Olatoregun, the presiding judge, said the application would be considered later since he is entitled to bail. She ordered that Fayose should remain in EFCC custody till Wednesday.
Fayose, while in custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), provided feeding for 150 people.
This was shared in a tweet from his Twitter account @GovAyoFayose currently operated by his spokesperson Lere Olayinka.
The 150 fed include people detained by the EFCC and visitors who came around.

Olayinka also shared that the former governor provided legal representation for who are in genuine need of one, and promised to assist those who are unable to meet their bail conditions.

Fayose’s bail hearing is slated for Wednesday, October 24, after he pleaded not guilty to charges of fraud made against him.
