Ekiti calls for probe as 100 students hospitalised after fumigation

The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has commiserated with the family of the late Prof. Benjamin Oloruntimehin, a former President of the Nigerian Academy of Letters and Historical Society of Nigeria, who passed away on Friday, aged 81.

Fayemi described Oloruntimehin as a distinguished and highly respected scholar, teacher and administrator, who inspired and impacted generations of scholars.

In a statement on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, titled, ‘Fayemi mourns renowned historian, Prof. Oloruntimehin’, the governor said, “The country and Ekiti State have lost another shining star, a historian of repute and teacher of teachers.”

Fayemi said the Ekiti State-born Professor of History made an indelible mark in research and teaching of History and in the academia, adding that Oloruntimehin excelled in every assignment entrusted to his care, leaving behind a legacy of excellent service.
