Southwest governors with APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu

On Tuesday evening, Southwest governors quietly met with the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Lagos, TopNaija reports.

The meeting with Tinubu was held at his Bourdillon residence in Ikoyi. The Southwest governors decided to visit Tinubu after their meeting at the Lagos House, Marina.

The governors present are:  Gboyega Oyetola (Osun), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) and Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), while Governor Seyi Makinde was represented by the Deputy Governor, Mr. Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan.

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi excused himself after the meeting of the governors at the State House, Marina and did not go with others to Bourdillon.

While it was gathered that Fayemi had an urgent assignment to attend to, which was why he did not go with the others to Tinubu’s house, TopNaija can authoritatively confirm that Fayemi was simply absent to protect the presidential ambition plan he is set to roll out in coming months.

The governor had visited Tinubu while he was in London along with Akeredolu.

During the visit, Akeredolu said they came to welcome him back home and wished him well.

The Ondo Governor had recently said they were waiting for Tinubu, who is their Cappo to come back from London before they could take decision on the 2023 presidency.

Speaking to newsmen during to Tinubu’s residence at Bordillion in Ikoyi, Lagos State, on Tuesday, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu stated that the former governor is capable of leading Nigeria.

While describing Tinubu as the leader of the Southwest, Akeredolu said the national leader of the APC is doing his best for the region.

According to Akeredolu, Southwest governors believe in the leadership of Bola Tinubu.

He stated that the governors were on a pilgrimage to Tinubu as the former Lagos governor’s house has turned to a Mecca.

In Akeredolu words: “We held the Southwest Governors’ Forum meeting.

“After the meeting, we deemed it fit to come over and visit our leader who has returned home successfully and who is hale and hearty.

“We have come to show our love for him and thank God on his behalf.

“He has been receiving visitors here. This place has turned into Mecca. We are here as part of the pilgrims.

“The National Leader of APC remains one. Most of us in the Southwest believe in his leadership and it shows that he’s doing his best to lead us.

“He is not only the leader of the Southwest but also the National leader of the APC in Nigeria.

“But we in the Southwest first lay claim to him as our leader.”
