Fans blast Ten Hag over Guardiola insult

Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag seems to have bitten more than he can chew following a recent snide remark on Man City boss, Pep Guardiola.

The Dutchman’s recent remarks about Pep Guardiola have ignited a frenzy among football fans after a quote in an interview with The Times was released.

The Manchester United boss, under intense scrutiny last season due to the team’s dismal Premier League and Champions League performances, has claimed his place right behind Guardiola in terms of recent success.

Despite United’s premature exit from the Champions League, finishing bottom of their group, and an underwhelming eighth-place finish in the Premier League, Ten Hag managed to salvage the season with a triumphant FA Cup victory over Manchester City.

Reflecting on his achievements, Ten Hag confidently told The Times: “Of course [I feel stronger after winning the FA Cup]. This club didn’t win trophies, before I came, for six years. In two years, after Guardiola, we won the most trophies in English football. So we are in a strong position.”

Ten Hag’s assertion of United’s potential to beat top teams like City and Liverpool drew mixed reactions from fans. Some praised his confidence, while others were quick to criticize his bold statements, especially in light of United’s inconsistent form.

One fan retorted on social media: “And never finished 8th, bottom at the CL Group. 19 losses and negative GD either.” Another remarked: “He’s started again. Mr ‘eras come to an end.’”
