The family of late gospel singer, Eric Arubayi, whose passage was widely reported a few days ago, has made its first official statement on the sad incident.
In a statement signed by the older brother of the deceased, Derreck, the family expressed gratitude to friends and well-wishers who stood by them in their hour of need.
The statement said, “We are touched by messages of love we have received from all friends and well wishers of the family. We are inspired by his life and have become testaments of his impact around the world. Till we meet to part no more, rest in the bosom of the Lord. We all love you Eric, but God loves you more.”
Eric died on February 11 at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital after a brief illness, only a few days after celebrating his third wedding anniversary. There were reports that he died after taking expired drugs that were meant to treat his malaria and typhoid ailment.
He is survived by his wife, his two-year-old son, two brothers, a sister and his parents.
