Nigerian rapper Folarin Falana better known as Falz, has announced the debut of House21 TV, his movie and television production company.

The 29-year-old singer broke the news in a statement via his Twitter page, stating that the firm’s first TV show titled ‘Therapy’ would be debuting on Friday.

“Super excited as I’ve officially set up a Film & TV production company @house21_tv with the aim of bringing you artistically sound & thoroughly entertaining content,” he wrote.

The development comes at about the same time when entertainers are diversifying amid the COVID-19 pandemic, with Tuface also floating the Innobia Cooperatives Organisation, an agro-allied business project.

Gbenga Adeyinka, a comedian, had recently announced a new company involved in farming, baking, and bottled water production.

Gloria Young, an actress, had earlier warned that entertainers in Nigeria could go hungry if they don’t find alternative ways to make ends meet as the country fights the pandemic’s economic impact.

“The pandemic has affected all forms of the economy, including the entertainment sector which is one of the greatest employers of labour that had been greatly affected,” she had said.

“Though all productions of films and radio had been put on hold, however, we still hold internet meetings to plan the way forward for sustenance.

“When the pandemic is over, our lives won’t be the same again. We hope to use the internet more in subsequent productions, following the current experiences we’re passing through.”
