Fall from Grace: Neymar gets offered number 10 shirt at Newcastle
Neymar Jr. promised the number 10 shirt by Newcastle United’s Joelinton in view of his transfer from Paris Saint Germain.
It surely shouldn’t be the kind of headline a player who once upon a time was regarded 3rd best player in the world, or who at a point was well sought after in Europe.
For now, it seems the only man who really wants to roll with the Brazilian in his team is Joelinton who plays for the Newcastle side in the Premier League.
“No.10 shirt is there waiting for him” he said as speculations surrounds the former Barcelona star’s exit from PSG.
During the early days of the transfer window, reports circulated online that London club, Chelsea were interested in signing the Brazilian from PSG, a report which ultimately had nothing concrete to it.
Neymar came into the Paris Saint Germain ranks five years prior in a club record fee of €222million from La Liga side, Barcelona.
It was quite the move that drew lots of criticisms and raised eye-brows, and ever since his debut as a PSG player, the Brazilian has always been touted for an exit in every summer window.
But now, it is being reported that the French club would listen to offers that could price the player out of their hands.
And for Joelinton, it is quite a good idea for his club to go all out for him.
“We can get him a spot, sure! In any team in the world.” he said.
“If we have the chance I hope the coach will call him. The number 10 shirt is there waiting for him. I’ll send a message to Bruno. Bruno has his contact, he can send a message inviting Ney to play there.”
While Joelinton is eager to offer up Newcastle’s No.10 shirt, it isn’t quite up to him though as it is worn by teammate Allan Saint-Maximin.
It’s even quite strange that Joelinton would be willing to offer up a shirt number that isn’t even his.
