Facebook Removes Option To Delete Post From Desktop Website: Bug or feature?

What happens on Facebook might just stay on Facebook – literally.
In a series of posts on Reddit and Twitter, Facebook users have complained that they are unable to erase their posts from the desktop version of the website. On the other hand, many others are still having the delete post option in their profiles. So, what’s happening here?
It could be possible that Facebook is testing an upcoming change; it could be a bug as well. Contrary to the assumption that Facebook is completely removing the delete posts option, it was found hidden in the Activity Log section of the website.
Well I just found out that @facebook has removed our ability to delete posts. You can “hide from timeline” if you feel like scrolling through your whole timeline, but you can’t delete and you can’t edit the post to be blank. Huh.

But, why would Facebook even test such a feature? Well, Facebook uses the posts of users for improving its advertising algorithms. They are also used for Memories post. As per VentureBeat, they could also be a trick to force users to use the mobile app more often.
Hmmm, is it just me or have Facebook took away the option to delete my own post? If I posted a pic before and decided I didn’t like it I always had the option to remove the post at the bottom of the menu pic.twitter.com/sjN632qmWf

We’ll share an update in future when Facebook has a clarification.
There’s a possibility that it could be some temporary bug that’s affecting users. Are you witnessing this issue? Don’t forget to share your views and become a part of the discussion.
