FAAN responds to Wizkid, Tiwa savage robbery claims
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, says allegations of theft at the airport from top artistes, Wizkid and Tiwa Savage is baseless and false.
On Wednesday, bags belonging to Wizkid and Tiwa savage were allegedly stolen at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos while they were returning from Uyo.
The cargo compartment of the Bombardier Challenger 605 jet with registration number T7-A00 was allegedly burgled while taxiing to the hangar.
Henrietta Yakubu, FAAN spokesperson, in reaction said it was impossible for an aircraft to be burgled while on runway.
According to her, investigations proved these reports as baseless even, as the artistes involved have refused to come for questioning.
She said “The purported victims in the said cases also did not make themselves available for questioning, in the quest to unravel the case.
“Although investigations are still on going, FAAN will like to reassure travellers and the general public that with the level of safety and security systems on ground at the airports, it is practically impossible for an aircraft to be burgled within our Runways and Aprons.”
