“Exercise Patience on Tinubu” — Alex Otti begs Nigerians
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has called upon Nigerians to exhibit patience and resilience in light of the economic measures spearheaded by President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing that the reforms hold the promise of prosperity and positive outcomes if consistently implemented.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting with President Tinubu at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos on Sunday, Governor Otti underscored the potential benefits of the ongoing economic reforms but acknowledged the challenges they pose in a country where a significant portion of the population lives below the poverty line.
Governor Otti commended President Tinubu’s bold steps in unifying the exchange rate and eliminating what he termed as a deceptive subsidy that had been draining significant financial resources.
He expressed support for these policies while highlighting the inherent difficulties they bring to a nation where more than 60 percent of the populace struggles with poverty.
“One thing is that he has a very courageous, unifying the exchange rate and then removing subsidy which actually had become a scam and costing us a lot of money,” Otti remarked, acknowledging the positive aspects of the economic initiatives while addressing their challenges.
Acknowledging the immediate hurdles in implementing such measures within an economically vulnerable population, Otti stressed the necessity for patience and unwavering commitment to the policies without compromising their integrity.
He expressed his belief that, given time, these initiatives could bring about a turnaround in the nation’s economic landscape.
