"Everything went against Us" -- Klopp slams Referee for Defeat

“A lot went against us,” Jurgen Klopp says as he gives reasons for Liverpool‘s defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates.

The Reds went into the game with a 5 point commanding advantage over the Gunners but now return to Anfield with a 3-1 defeat as Arsenal cuts the gap on the top of the league by 3-points.

It was an affair that saw defensive mishaps dictate the play for Liverpool as performances from Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Trent Alexander-Arnold costs the Reds massive points in the race for a second Premier League title.

However for Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, the real reason the Reds lost were the men in charge of the officiating, or at least the man on the field of play with both teams.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, the German explains;

“A lot of things went against us today, come on. It was again the situation,”

“This referee gave me a red card against Man City. A red card for a wrestling situation – Bernardo Silva and Mo Slaah, today same situation with Diogo Jota that didn’t get a red card, it’s just unbelievable.” Jurgen Klopp accused.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss then goes on to back his statements, saying;

“Then holding by Havertz on Konate for his first yellow, Havertz goes down – yellow card and then has to give him a second yellow,”

“Gabriel is going the same with [Darwin] Nunez, no yellow card. Everything went in these moments against us and that’s decisive in a game like this.”
