Europa League: United Qualify for round of 16

Manchester United faced Barcelona in the Round of 32 of the Europa League.

The first leg of the tie was played at the Camp Nou, where both teams played out a thrilling 2-2 draw.

In that match, Manchester United had taken an early lead through Mason Greenwood, but Barcelona responded with goals from Martin Braithwaite and Antoine Griezmann.

However, an injury-time equalizer from Marcus Rashford ensured that United remained in the tie.

In the second leg at Old Trafford, Barcelona started strongly and took the lead through a Robert Lewandowski penalty in the 25th minute. The penalty was awarded after Bruno Fernandes had fouled Alejandro Balde in the box.

Barcelona had several chances to extend their lead, but were unable to convert them.

United came out strongly in the second half and managed to equalize in the 51st minute, with Fred scoring a low shot from a Bruno Fernandes pass.

United continued to press forward and got the winner in the 73rd minute through substitute Antony. The Brazilian striker scored with a low strike from 15 yards out to send United through to the last 16 of the Europa League.

This victory will be a huge boost for Manchester United, who have struggled for consistency this season.

The Europa League represents their best chance of winning a trophy this season and they will be hoping to go all the way. The draw for the last 16 takes place on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland, and United will be eagerly waiting to find out their opponents.

 They will face one of the sides that won their Europa League group, and teams from the same country cannot play each other in the next round. This means that United will avoid Premier League leaders Arsenal, who also qualified for the last 16. Their potential opponents include Fenerbahce (Turkey), Ferencvaros (Hungary), Feyenoord (Netherlands), Freiburg (Germany), Real Betis and Real Sociedad (both Spain) or Union Saint-Gilloise (Belgium).
