Football despite all its glamour, is a very much short-lived career that if lucky enough could span 15 solid years at the top of the chain, and for Gerard Pique, it very well was that as the Barcelona star enjoyed quite a successful career prior to announcing his retirement from the club.

Eras are meant to have a beginning and likewise an end, and for former Barcelona player and current English pundit, Gary Lineker, it’s come that time to say goodbye to the Barcelona he knew with the exit and retirement of Gerard Pique.

Gary Lineker, a former striker for Barcelona, responded to Gerard Pique’s abrupt retirement from football.

On Thursday, the former Manchester United player announced his unexpected retirement from the game.

In their LaLiga victory over Almeria at Camp Nou on Saturday, Pique made his final appearance for Barcelona.
