Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has given update on his team ahead of Thursday’s Premier League clash with Manchester United.

Wenger insisted that his team will finish in the Premier League top four at the end of the season after missing out on the Carabao Cup last Sunday.

Arsenal are sixth in the League table with 45 points from 27 games, 10 points off the top four position.

He told reporters ahead of the EPL clash, “Our target is to finish in the top four. I want us to focus in a united way and to respond tomorrow and win the game.”

The Frenchman also reflected on his team’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final, saying, “It was a tight game until 2-0. City had three shots on target and we had two.

“We have to turn the decisive moments into our favour. We played a bit apprehensive and we need to have more freedom

“We are very disappointed after losing an important game.

“We need to recover from that and prepare for the next challenge together.

“We have to live with it. It is part of the modern game. It is there job to comment. It is important how we respond and analyse the game.

“It doesn’t help us to win or lose the game – that is done by how we respond internally.

“Yes, of course. I am long enough to know people will ask questions of the players. You have to accept and analyse if we lost the game because of that. You get that impression with games like 3-0 but that’s not the main reason.”

On his future at the club, he said, “It is important what is happening to the team. My individual future is less important.

“My position is my position. Honestly, it is the last worry I have at the moment. It is my way of thinking, to focus for the next game. My job is to perform and for other people to judge me.

“Does it stop you to sleep? That my position is certain, uncertain. Thursday night is important but the rest isn’t interesting.

“I am amazed that I have to answer things that are the same. I have been here for 21 years, I turned the whole world down to respect my contract.”

Wenger also ruled out Nacho Monreal, who sustained an injury in the Carabao Cup final from the encounter.

“He (Monreal) is out for the two games – this weekend.

“He might be out for two more – Milan and maybe one more. The rest, everybody is fit.”
