EARLY LIFE
Eniola Akinbo popularly is from Ilesa, Osun state. she was born in December 9, 1985 in Lagos state, Nigeria. She started singing in her church choir when she was 8 years old.


EDUCATION
Eniola Akinbo, After finishing secondary school, she went on study Journalism at the Independent Journalism Center owned by PM News before going on to the University of Lagos to study English Language while taking courses in Travel & Tourism.


CAREER
Niyola musical career started when she took part in the AMEN starlet competition emerging first runner up, meeting with the then ‘Plantashun boys’ who invited her to do a duet with them (she ended up recording with Faze as the group split soon afterwards). She joined Trybe records briefly before going on to release her first singles ‘Me n U (in da club)’ ‘No more’ and ‘Dem say’ under Freestyle’s Make-Sum Noise Entertainment. She got signed to Westside Music and went on to release her debut album, which had hits like ‘Bring it on’ and ‘Call my name’ earning her two nominations that year at the Hip hop world awards.

In 2012, she got signed to Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) by Banky W going on from there to release singles like  ‘Don’t Delay Me’ and ‘Don’t Go There’ and then her hit single ‘Toh Bad’ in 2013. Since then, she has released singles like ‘Last Bus Stop’, ‘Love to Love You’ and ‘Go On’.

She has since coming into the musical scene performed at major events like the Akon concert in Lagos, Calabar festival in Cross Rivers, Y’hello Festival alongside Sasha, toured with CELTEL (now Airtel) in 2008 and collaborated with many musicians including Sasha P, Sound Sultan, Paul Play, Lynxxx, Wizkid, Banky W and Skales

She took part in the first girl power Tetmosol project and in 2009, she took part in the Ovation Red Carol theme song.

Niyola also does soundtracks for Yoruba movies like Feyipitan, Ogidi Omo Abanidaro and in 2007, wrote the theme song for 2Face Idibia’s 2nd album concert.

She has been nominated for several awards including-

— Best Vocal Performance (Female) at the Headies Awards 2013. 

— 2013 Most Promising Female Act to Watch at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.


FAMILY
Niyola was born into a family of 10 children, and she is the last born of the family.


PERSONAL LIFE
She sang in church with her siblings and was inspired to pursue a career in music after attending a Funmi Adams concert. Niyola emerged runner up in the Amen Starlet competition in 2000.
