#EndSARS report: Lai rubbish report, describes allegations as “tales by moonlight”

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has described the #EndSARS report presented by the Lagos State Judicial Panel as fake and unrealistic.

The minister made this statement at a press conference in Abuja today.

Reacall that the nine-member panel set up by the Lagos State government had in its report alleged that at least nine persons were killed at the Lekki toll plaza when soldiers and policemen stormed the scene with ammunitions to disperse protesters on the 20th October, 2020.

However, Lai Mohammed described the allegations in the report as “tales by moonlight”.

Opening fire on peaceful protesters is a blatant violation of people’s rights to life, dignity, freedom of expression and peaceful assembly. Soldiers clearly had one intention – to kill without consequences, says Osai Ojigho, Country Director of Amnesty International Nigeria.
