Emiliano Martinez reacts celebration that made him Hated

Emiliano Martinez, the goalkeeper for Aston Villa, has recreated his infamous pose with the Golden Glove award in Argentina’s first game since their World Cup victory last year.

Emiliano Martinez played a significant role in Argentina’s win, making a crucial last-minute save in the final against France, leading to his Golden Glove award win.

However, his post-award celebration, which involved a bizarre pose, received backlash from fans and critics. Despite the criticism, Martinez and his teammates delivered the crude celebration in Argentina’s first game against Panama, which split opinions amongst fans online.

The match was a friendly, and Argentina won 2-0, with Thiago Almada scoring the opening goal in the 78th minute, and Lionel Messi securing the win with a sensational free-kick one minute before the game ended. Martinez kept a clean sheet throughout the game.

After the game, Messi gave a speech where he thanked the people of Argentina for their support, and revealed that winning the World Cup was something he had always dreamt of.

“To be able to celebrate with you, to come to my country, to Argentina, to lift a Copa America, the Finalissima, and the greatest one, which is the World Cup,” he said.

Martinez’s decision to recreate his infamous pose in front of their home fans after their World Cup victory split opinions online, with some fans finding it “embarrassing and trashy,” while others believed that “they don’t care what haters say.”

Nonetheless, the goalkeeper’s contribution to Argentina’s World Cup victory and his now-iconic celebration will undoubtedly remain a talking point for years to come.
