We are live again at the Excellence In Leadership Conference Day 2. The conference has commenced with high praises and worship sessions. If you missed the first day of the event, you can catch the gist here.

Your Man crush, Richard Mofe-Damijo, started the day’s series of teachings by showing us the secrets to ‘Igniting Your Creative Genius.’

CEO, House of Tara International, Tara Fela-Durotoye, spoke shortly after RMD’s session, about Turning your passion to profit.

She shared her experiences working with protege’s that tried to steal from her; how she learned to forgive them; and how she was rewarded.

“You may not reap where you’ve sowed, but you reap what you sow.”- Tara Fela-Durotoye

Tara ended her session with a poignant montage of people she has helped during the course of her career sharing their stories and appreciating her.

It’s break time now, I’ll be right back…and no, I’m not crying. I’ve got dust in my eyes sniffs

The afternoon session of the event has begun with Founder/CEO of Venia Group, Kolawole Oyeneyin speaking on Citizen engagement and Political empowerment.

He said something quite profound that I intend to wrap and mail to Aso Rock. He said,

“The Highest Office in the land isn’t the office of the President; it’s the office of the Citizens”

He also made a valid point when he stated that any generation  that isn’t empowered will expire and explode.

The final speaker at the event Bank Akinmola, Founder, World Outreach Church For All Nations, came on after Mr. Oyeneyin to deliberate on the topic, ‘Becoming A Person Of Power and Influence’. And when I say he deliberated on the topic, I mean, he really did. His teachings also extended to Power-Dressing and attributes colours convey.

Speaking on Influence, he said that influence follows the results. Stating that if you produce results, you will be influential.

He further stated that Character, is the greatest source of influence.

My take home nugget from his teaching is, ‘instead of focusing on the Nigerian problem, look for a disruptive solution’.

Pastor Sam took to the stage to give a vote of thanks, shortly after Mr. Bank (cool name though) ended his lecture.

I was a bit put-off that the event had come to an end. I wanted it to go on forever. But I will take solace in the wisdom I have received from the event.

**I would be remiss if I fail to mention the transcendental ministration by the UKN.

The Excellence in Leadership conference was truly a remarkable event.
