Ekiti State Police arrest two suspected robbers, recover 32 stolen underwear
Men of Ekiti State Police have apprehended two suspected armed robbers in Ado Ekiti after recovering stole underwear, arms, and ammunition from the suspects.
Operatives of the Ekiti Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers, Olusesan Segun and Kareem Gbenga, in Ado-Ekiti.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Abutu Sunday, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, July 15, 2022, said the suspects, Olusesan Segun and Kareem Gbenga, were arrested during a raid on a criminal hideout.
According to Abutu, 32 stolen underwear, 8 handsets, drugs, arms, and ammunition were recovered from the suspects.
The statement reads;
“Following credible intelligence received, detectives from the Command swooped on a criminal hideout at Atikankan area of Ado-Ekiti on 13/07/2022 and arrested one Olusesan Segun a.k.a ALWAYS and Kareem Gbenga while others took to their heels,”
“Items recovered from the suspects include one cut to size locally made single barrel gun, one locally made pistol, 51 live cartridges, 32 suspected stolen underwears, 20 suspected stolen aluminum window frames, 8 suspected handsets, some wraps of weed suspected to be Indian hemp and some wraps of powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.
After being caught by the Operatives of Ekiti State Command, the suspects also confessed to being members of Eiye confraternity cult group.
“During interrogation, the suspects confessed that they are into armed robbery alongside those who are currently at large. They further disclosed that they hawk illicit drugs and that they are members of the supreme Eiye confraternity.
“The suspects arrested will be arraigned accordingly while effort is ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects.” The statement read.
