Ekiti guber: Over 500 armed thugs nabbed in Ekiti

The joint security forces consisting soldiers and policemen have arrested over 500 armed hoodlums at Ita Awure/Efon Junction in Ekiti state.

It was gathered that these armed thugs were nabbed at about 3 am on Wednesday on their way to Ekiti from Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Our correspondent gathered that the thugs were going to Ekiti in an attempt to disrupt the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary in the state.

The thugs were in many vehicles before there were intercepted on Wednesday.

It was gathered that the thugs were believed to be members of Oyo state Park Management System (PMS).

Recovered from thugs were various weapons such as guns, machetes, charms and many other harmful objects.

The Peoples Democratic Party is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Nigeria, along with its main rival, the All Progressives Congress.
