Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released Omoniyi Temidayo, Nigerian singer better known as Zlatan Ibile, after five days in detention.

The singer, who was arrested alongside Naira Marley on allegation of “advanced fee fraud and related cybercrimes” after the duo’s controversial collaborative single, was released alongside three others.

They were released on Tuesday evening on administrative bail pending when the commission is ready to charge them to court.

Those who were released alongside Zlatan Ibile included Tiamiu Abdulrahman Kayode; Adewunmi Adeyanju Moses; and Abubakar Musa,

The anti-graft agency, however, did not release any official statement to explain why Naira Marley was not released on bail.

Asides Naira Marley’s controversial comments about internet fraudsters which gave rise to a social media outrage by both fans and fellow singers, the singer recently claimed to have been arrested 124 times while he was in England.

“124 times in England I’ve been arrested, gone in the cell . Let me tell you, you don’t know nothing about me. I’m not into singing love songs or slow jam songs. I sing gang music from the early. I’m a gangster,” he had said.
