EFCC chairman orders investigation into Bobrisky bribery claims

Ola Olukoyede, Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), ordered an immediate investigation into alleged bribery allegations made against some Commission officers by Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, in a viral video circulating across the country on Tuesday.

In a video recorded by Martins Vincent Otse, alias VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky claims that certain unknown EFCC personnel accepted N15 million from him in order to dismiss money laundering accusations against him.

Olukoyede has now assembled an investigative team to look into the claims.

The statement, signed by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, said in part: “To this end, the Commission hereby invites both Okuneye and Otse to make themselves available at its Lagos directorate to assist investigators in uncovering the alleged bribery.”

“The EFCC wishes to assure the public that the allegations would be thoroughly investigated and the result of the findings made public accordingly.”
