EFCC arrests Reuben Abati over $2.1bn arms deal

Special adviser on media and publicity to former president Goodluck Jonathan, Reuben Abati has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

A source at the commission confirmed to that the former chairman of the editorial board of TheGuardian was arrested on Monday in connection to the $2.1 billion arms deal scandal for which Sambo Dasuki, former national security adviser, has been in detention since 2015.

Dasuki is facing 22-count charges of money laundering and criminal breach of trust brought against him by the EFCC.
